Gaming App

“Letches” is a learning app for kids to develop and improve their potential capabilities in a fun and engaging way. Children are challenged with various quizzes and games from easy concepts to more difficult ones. The idea of the app was to design a gaming app for children with learning disabilities that enables parents and educators to establish an effective way of communication. It also displays how the children perform over time and the key factors to improve their behaviours. It is noteworthy to mention that our purpose is to make games more appealing for children through the use of AR technology.

Challenge

EMPATHIZE

Learning disabilities can be defined as a condition that affects the learning process throughout a person’s life. It occurs when the brain is unable to comprehend and process information, and it can be caused by a wide range of factors. The majority of kids with LD have the same capabilities as normal children, but they suffer from a lack of information or inadequate education. It is noteworthy to say that approximately 12% of people around the world struggle with learning disabilities, which is expected to increase in the future. As a result, we decided to help those children improve their potential abilities through technology and gaming. And also help their parents to develop a better relationship with them. Our target society was functional LD children who have the ability to use phones or other devices.

It would decrease the average amount of treatment expenditures.
Children are more interested in technology than in other treatment methods.
It is rather challenging to communicate with LD children in person.

Letechs is an app that enables parents to supervise their children. Additionally, we planned to prepare a developmental test for the child at the beginning. This was to determine the child’s age and level so that we could design a better and more appropriate game for them. By then we could provide games to parents and also show improvements in their children’s development that can be seen in development charts over a given time period.

AR FEATURED GAMES

By using modern technologies, our concept evolved around teaching children how to focus or improve themselves in a captivating environment. We offer both AR-featured and casual games for a wide variety of age groups (from 3 to 12 yrs old). We chose AR because of its high user engagement and distinctive user experience.

CASUAL GAMES

Letechs is designed to be engaging and enjoyable for young children with learning disabilities as well. In this game called “Guess What?” we tried to improve auditory and visual perception.

Through these games we developed and evolved children’s numerical and quantitative perception as well as their ability to differentiate colors. Furthermore, we have considered to associate all our games with auditory features
